HCC repairs leaks in Río Peces dam without emptying the reservoir

HCC repairs the main leaks in Río Peces dam (Navas de Riofrío, Segovia) through injections of high viscosity resins. The biggest leaks (about 90 l/min) have been successfully sealed with reservoir at maximum level. The action has been a success, achieving the sealing of the leaks with the highest flow rate (about 90 l/min) with the reservoir at maximum level. The estimated volume of water that was lost per year and that can now be used for water supply is 15.770 m3, which implies a saving of 18,450 €/year. Works have been financed by Navas de Riofrío town council and Diputación de Segovia
